Registered Democrats in New York will vote on June 23 in the Democratic Primary. Safe and accessible voting is crucial as our city confronts the COVID-19 pandemic.

Why vote on June 23? Brooklyn is a one party town. The Democratic Primary determines the Democratic candidate in November and, since Brooklyn votes blue, the Democrat typically wins. In other words, the Primary is the election.
Who will be on my ballot? This year, Assembly District 52 includes elections for offices such as State Senator, as well as party positions like District Leader (it will say “State Committee Member” on your ballot). A federal court has ruled that New York’s presidential primary will be held. However, this decision is subject to appeal.
Who can vote? Registered Democrats can vote in the Primary. Check your voter registration to make sure you are registered at your current address and as a Democrat. If your current address is incorrect, update your address immediately by re-registering here. If you are not registered as a Democrat, you cannot vote in the Primary — the deadline to update your party affiliation was February 14. Update your registration to participate in 2021.
